Freshly flown in from Toulouse, the very first A350 arrived at Hong Kong International Airport on 29 May, before being inducted with great fanfare a few hours later. For the occasion, Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing Joseph Lai made the trip to the hangars of the Hong Kong Limited Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO), alongside Cathay Pacific's Chief Operating Officer Rupert Hogg.<\/p>\n<p>This first aircraft enters service today on a route to Manila. Eventually, with the arrival of other A350-900s, it will <strong>will move from a regional vocation to an international ambition<\/strong>by flying to long-haul destinations. The airports of <strong>London Gatwick<\/strong> and <strong>D\u00fcsseldorf<\/strong> are already targeted, and should be served from <strong>third quarter 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_48823\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-48823\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Cathay-Pacific-A350-01-2016.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-48823\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-48823\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Cathay-Pacific-A350-01-2016.jpg\" alt=\"Cathay Pacific has ordered 48 A350-900XWBs\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Cathay-Pacific-A350-01-2016.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Cathay-Pacific-A350-01-2016-300x169-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-48823\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cathay Pacific has ordered 48 A350-900XWBs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This new device - <strong>the first of 48 Airbus A350s ordered by the airline<\/strong> Air France - must embody the move upmarket in terms of comfort, connectivity and entertainment. \" <em>Travelling well for a better life<\/em> \"The carrier's slogan sums it up. \" <em>Optimised cabin pressure and noise levels combined with our new equipment will offer passengers the best sleep experience in the sky.<\/em>\u00a0\"says Rupert Hogg. \"\u00a0<em>We've also gone to great lengths to provide the best in-flight entertainment. All seats are equipped with the latest high-definition touch-screen personal TVs and a wider choice of films, TV channels, news channels and music. The offer <strong>In-flight Wi-Fi<\/strong>\u00a0is also available to allow passengers to stay in touch with their family, work and news, if they so wish<\/em>\u00a0\"he explains.<\/p>\n<p>In concrete terms, passengers should benefit from increased space thanks to the extra-wide fuselage of the new aircraft, which also incorporates <strong>panoramic windows<\/strong>a <strong>LED mood lighting<\/strong> and <strong>larger luggage compartments<\/strong>. Le <strong>fully flat bed<\/strong> is equipped with extra storage space, and personalised service enhanced by the integration of <strong>Do Not Disturb\" and \"Wake Up Call\" functions<\/strong> in the entertainment system.
