Which is logical, given that 12,000 hours of research<\/strong> will have been necessary to develop this new business class, which will take to the skies on 1st December<\/strong> next. Above all, United is clearly setting itself apart in the American market - and even beyond - with the introduction of a host of services all designed to improve the sleep of business travellers throughout their travel experience.<\/p>\n

\"Three<\/a>

As you might expect, the seat in this new United Polaris Business Class has received special attention. The company describes it as a \"\u00a0exclusive\u00a0<\/em>\"designed\u00a0made to measure<\/em>\u00a0\"The project involved three players: Acumen Design Associates, PriestmannGoode and Zodiac Seats United Kingdom. The result: a seat 180-degree tilt<\/strong>reaching 1.98 m bed length<\/strong>and systematically guaranteeing corridor access<\/strong>. But United's thinking didn't stop at the Polaris seat alone: the company also turned to a top-of-the-range bedding specialist - Saks Fifth Avenue in this case - to design bedding that was also tailor-made, with duvets, blankets and two sizes of pillow that could be complemented by mattress cushions and even cooled gel pillows (sic<\/em>), available on request. United goes even further, by including in its new amenity kits a soothing lavender mist to be sprayed on the pillow. Nothing is too good to look after the sleep of business travellers.<\/p>\n

The new approach developed by United is not limited to the in-flight experience, as the airline is also unveiling a new salon concept<\/strong>These will include sleeping areas with beds, spa showers and hot meals. Chicago airport will be the first to benefit from these new facilities, which will also be available on 1 December. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, New York\/Newark, Washington Dulles, Tokyo Narita, Hong Kong and London Heathrow are expected to follow suit over the next year, in what is already being billed as a \"new airport\".\u00a0the only lounge of its kind made available to business class passengers by a North American airline<\/em>\u00a0\"according to United.<\/p>\n
