According to statistics released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA), the first half of 2016 saw a 6.2% increase in the number of passengers on the international routes of the association's member airlines. This represents a total of 144 million passengers and a load factor of 77.9%, a very slight increase of 0.1 points. Commenting on these results, Andrew Herdman, Chief Executive of the AAPA, expects this trend to continue for the rest of the year: \"Passenger demand remains positive, with consumers benefiting from cheap fares and more services, both of which stimulate demand\".<\/p>\n

AAPA represents 31 Asian airlines, including Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern, China Southern, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Garuda, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Vietnam Airlines.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
