On the contrary, it has just announced an ambitious plan to modernise its short- and medium-haul fleet, with an investment of over <strong>50 million euros<\/strong> (SEK 500 million). This vast renovation will include the introduction of in-flight connectivity, presented as \"a new way of flying\".\u00a0<em><strong>Europe's fastest WiFi<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\"The system is available in two versions, with speeds of 12 Mbps and more. This system, supplied in <strong>partnership with ViaSat<\/strong>This will of course allow streaming, access to social networks and applications of all kinds, but it will also enable cabin crew to<strong>access passenger information<\/strong> via an iPad Mini, at every stage of the journey. Travellers will be able to check the status of their connecting flight or their EuroBonus account. They can even <strong>book a flight on board, hire a car or reserve a taxi at the airport<\/strong>. The first device with this high-speed Wi-Fi will take to the air in the 2nd half of 2017.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>An even more personalised service<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\" <em>The modernisation of our long-haul aircraft has been very well received by our customers, and now it's the turn of our short- and medium-haul fleet.<\/em>\u00a0\"says Rickard Gustafson, Chairman and CEO of SAS. \"\u00a0<em>The improvements will include a high-speed Wi-Fi offering that will allow passengers to work during their flight or relax while watching a film or series. These new services will benefit both passengers and crew. We will be offering <strong>an even more personalised service<\/strong> via the development of intelligent digital tools, which will improve comfort on board our flights<\/em> \"he adds.<\/p>\n<p>The wifi race is currently in full swing. A few days ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/finnair-route-vers-wifi-20160902.html\/\" target=\"_blank\">Finnair also announced<\/a> that its short-haul fleet of<strong>A320 to connect to ViaSat system in May<\/strong>.
