Yet there is no shortage of points of comparison between the two cities, both of them bustling metropolises, bathed in sunshine and bordered by the sea, where the fibre of work drowns in a flamboyant nightlife.<\/p>\n<p>So close, yet so far from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv may not be the capital of Israel, but it is the capital of its future, the major economic, financial and technological centre of a country that holds the record for the number of companies registered on Nasdaq, with the exception, of course, of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>A city with no shortage of resources, symbolised in Tel Aviv and the surrounding area by the flamboyant towers of the Azrieli Center, the Israel Diamond Exchange in Ramat-Gan, the business parks and chic residential areas of Herzliya, but also by... the beach, since tourism still makes up a large part of Tel Aviv's income, year in, year out.
