{"id":61153,"date":"2017-05-09T17:39:12","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T15:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=61153"},"modified":"2017-05-09T17:40:30","modified_gmt":"2017-05-09T15:40:30","slug":"icca-paris-capitale-congres-ranking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/icca-paris-capitale-congres-ranking","title":{"rendered":"ICCA rankings: Paris crowned world congress capital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-temps-rayonnement-de-ville-lumiere-20160919.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Paris<\/strong><\/a> won't be long <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/classement-icca-berlin-toit-mice-20160527.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">left his title to <strong>Berlin<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0: already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/classement-icca-paris-capitale-mondiale-du-meeting-20150513.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crowned in 2014<\/a>The City of Light has regained its place at the top of the world rankings of conference destinations, defined each year by the<strong>CICA<\/strong>. The International Congress and Convention Association has therefore just named Paris one of its <strong>2016 ranking<\/strong>published on 8 May. With <strong>196 international conferences<\/strong> organised last year - one event more than the total posted by Berlin in the previous financial year - the French capital is ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vienne-donau-city-business-version-rive-gauche-du-danube-20150224.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Vienna<\/strong><\/a> (186) and <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> (181) on the ICCA podium. Relegated to 4th position with 176 units, the German capital nevertheless maintains a good lead over London, in fifth place (153). While the order has changed, the destinations in the top 5 remain unchanged from the previous edition. However, Amsterdam (7th) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/seoul-gangnam-business-style-20160718.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Seoul<\/strong> <\/a>(10th) into the top 10. Unsurprisingly, the United States maintains its leadership of the country rankings, while France moves up one place in the 2016 rankings, at the expense of Spain.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_61155\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-61155\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ICCA-Paris-2017.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-61155\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ICCA-Paris-2017.jpg\" alt=\"CICA\" width=\"700\" height=\"622\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ICCA-Paris-2017.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ICCA-Paris-2017-300x267-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-61155\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The ICCA has just published its ranking of the world's destinations for international congresses.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In a press release published on Tuesday, <strong>Viparis<\/strong> stresses that \"\u00a0<em>These results are all the more remarkable in a year when Paris hosted the<strong>Euro football<\/strong>The Paris Opera, a major event on the international scene, mobilises the capital's hotels over several weeks.<\/em>\u00a0\". The French operator is quick to point out that it has made a major contribution to these good results by hosting <strong>175 conferences in 2016<\/strong>including 18 international conferences that meet the standards defined by the ICCA. \" <em>We are proud to contribute actively to Paris' international reputation<\/em>\u00a0\"says Marta Gomes, Convention Sales Director at Viparis. \"\u00a0<em>This position, far from being earned, is deserved and encourages us to continue our efforts. 2016 saw the launch of the Paris Leaders Club, a network of French scientists who are actively helping to promote Paris's heritage and offerings.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What's more, Paris is already shaping up to be a serious contender for its own succession, thanks to the new infrastructures that will soon be adding to its catalogue of events.\u00a0<em>\"The highlight of 2017 will be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/nouveau-visage-paris-expo-porte-de-versailles-20170410.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">launch of <strong>Paris Convention Centre<\/strong><\/a>This will enable Paris to host the world's biggest international conferences in the best possible conditions from 2018 onwards.<\/em> \"reminds us <strong>Marta Gomes<\/strong>who
