{"id":61543,"date":"2017-06-01T10:19:33","date_gmt":"2017-06-01T08:19:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=61543"},"modified":"2017-06-01T10:37:54","modified_gmt":"2017-06-01T08:37:54","slug":"sncf-wifi-tgv-nord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-wifi-tgv-nord","title":{"rendered":"Wifi launched on the TGV Nord line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the Paris-Lyon line in December 2016, SNCF is launching wifi on the TGV Nord network, departing from Gare du Nord. \"\u00a0<em>This service meets strong demand from our passengers<\/em>\" J\u00e9r\u00f4me Leborgne, Director of SNCF TGV Nord, is delighted.\u00a0<em>the Paris-Lille route is the second busiest after Paris-Lyon and on a par with Paris-Nantes, with in particular <strong>one third business passengers<\/strong><\/em>\" .<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>already 50% of TGVs running between Paris and Lille and two-thirds of customers carried<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To offer this service <strong>Internet at 300 km\/h<\/strong>The SNCF has worked with telecoms operators, including Orange, which has installed <strong>4G<\/strong> the SNCF lines in the north of France, with the SNCF itself equipping the <strong>17 Duplex trains<\/strong> (single-decker) TGVs running on its network. \"\u00a0<em>Conventional TGVs are not yet equipped with this wifi service, but these Duplex trains already account for 50% of the TGVs running between Paris and Lille and two-thirds of the customers carried, given their large capacity.<\/em>\" says J\u00e9r\u00f4me Leborgne, adding that the SNCF is committed to offering this service on other TGVs by <strong>18 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To connect to the <strong>TGV Connect portal<\/strong> On the Paris-Lille line, business travellers simply need to enter their travel file reference or their loyalty card number. As well as being able to work and process their e-mails, they will also be able to access SNCF information such as the services available on board their TGV, its geographical position on an interactive map and real-time timetable information.<\/p>\n<p>After Paris-Lille, on-board wifi will be available on trains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-pourquoi-nom-tgv-inoui-20170530.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>InOUI<\/strong> - the future name<\/a> of the conventional TGV service - running on the new Paris-Bordeaux high-speed line from <strong>2 July<\/strong> then on Paris-Rennes and on the TGV M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e route (Marseille, Nice,
