GETTING THERE<\/h2>\n

HONG KONG TOURIST OFFICE<\/strong> Firstly, there's its location; right in the heart of Kowloon and just five minutes from the Star Ferries. Then, past the gigantic reception hall with its ad hoc bouquets of flowers, there's its atmosphere; something intimate, undoubtedly English, especially in the very elegant Langham Club. And then there are the works of contemporary art on display everywhere, giving it a kultur-kultur feel that does nothing to spoil it. When it comes to eating out, it doesn't get much better than this: the Cantonese cuisine at T'ang Court has been awarded three Michelin stars. For the rest, there are three other restaurants - grill and seafood, a tea room, a bar, four meeting rooms, a banqueting and conference room and a cocktail lounge for up to 500 people. 498 rooms and suites and rooftop swimming pool. It's chic as chic, minimal as minimal, urban as urban. Understandably, the furniture is unadorned, with the emphasis on greys, beiges and whites. The arty elegance of the clientele is entirely in keeping with the ultra-contemporary d\u00e9cor designed by architect Andr\u00e9 Fu. Sophisticated cuisine and breathtaking views at Caf\u00e9 Grey, a sky lounge at 49e<\/sup> floor reserved for private events, a restaurant, a bar and 117 rooms. The highest hotel in the world occupies the top 15 floors of the International Commerce Center, on the Kowloon peninsula. This guarantees a sublime view of the lights of Hong Kong, particularly from its Ozone lounge-bar. As for the rest, it's all luxury, marble and crystal. 312 rooms and suites, 5 restaurants, 3 lounge bars, conference rooms, spa. Three Michelin stars: that says it all for this restaurant in the Langham Hotel, serving magnificent Cantonese cuisine. On the tasting menu: dim sums, tomatoes stuffed with truffles, oysters in port and lobster with spring onions... The decor is 'Chinese' but not too much, the atmosphere is hushed, especially as T'ang Court offers five private dining rooms for festive events. The Chinese love private dining rooms. What a bar! What a view! Just like Hong Kong by night in the background, everything in Skye Bar is flooded with light: the synthetic seats are lit from within, as is the counter, and the same goes for the spirits presented in front of fluorescent neon lights... After a cocktail served in the sky, you can indulge in one of the city's most sophisticated dinners in the adjoining restaurant. First of all, the d\u00e9cor: an explosive mix of Japanese manga masterpieces and Carioca-style South American elements. Rough wood, waxed concrete and multicoloured chairs all combine to create a warm and inviting ambience: this is a resolutely arty place. And so is the cuisine, which offers a highly inventive mix of Brazilian and Japanese cuisine under the leadership of chef Angel Romero. A tasting menu offers seven dishes full of surprises.
