Growth is on the cards in France, both internationally and in the domestic market. According to DGAC<\/strong>Air transport growth was underpinned by growth on international routes, up 6.7% over the first half. The international traffic<\/strong> continues to account for the bulk of the country's air traffic: with 61.5 million passengers carried in the first half of the year, it passed the sixty million mark for the first time. The international market share was 80%. L'European Union<\/strong> alone generates 35.6 million passengers, giving it a market share of 47.3%. It is in fact the most dynamic market segment, along with Africa<\/strong>up 6.8%.<\/p>\n

The latter continent is driven by a Improved traffic to Tunisia and Morocco<\/strong>. Air transport to and from these two markets rose by 14.5% and 10.7% respectively. Among the major French airports, Beauvais<\/strong> continued to fall (-8.61TP3Q), dropping below the two million passenger mark, while Lille<\/strong><\/a> posted a 3% drop with 846,000 passengers. In the first half of 2016, the airport recorded a huge jump in its activity, linked to the diversion of some of the traffic from Brussels National Airport, in the wake of theattack on Belgian platform<\/strong><\/a>.
