There's nothing pretentious about this Novotel, this is a seaside resort without the fuss, and you can feel it as soon as you enter, in the human-sized lobby. At the end: a swimming pool and a restaurant under a straw hut which lights up with a thousand lanterns in the evening and serves delicious Lusitano-Indian cuisine. This palace, built in 1903 by India's most famous businessman, Amestji N. Tata, has a soul, and what a soul it is! Untouched despite the palace's complete renovation in 2010. It shines through everywhere; in its countless lounges, bars and restaurants, in its standard rooms and in its most luxurious suites. The staff are eminently stylish, sometimes magnificent when wearing the traditional Sikh turban.
