{"id":69203,"date":"2018-01-12T10:03:24","date_gmt":"2018-01-12T09:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=69203"},"modified":"2022-01-14T14:31:26","modified_gmt":"2022-01-14T13:31:26","slug":"airfrance-klm-wishes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/airfrance-klm-wishes","title":{"rendered":"Air France-KLM : 2017 results, 2018 outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <strong>Jean Marc Janaillac<\/strong>Chairman and CEO of Air France-KLM and President of Air France, 2017 was a source of satisfaction: \" <em>We approached <strong>100 million passengers<\/strong>This represents an increase in traffic of 5.65 %, higher than the initial forecasts, against a backdrop of increasingly strong competition from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/moyen-orient-compagnies-golfe-20170711.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gulf carriers<\/a>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/low-cost-aerien-20171205.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">low cost<\/a>We are also facing competition from traditional Asian and American airlines, not to mention competition from the railways. We have strengthened our long-haul business through our joint ventures, such as the partnership between Air France-KLM, Delta and China Eastern, and our new partnerships with Vietnam Airlines and Jet Airways.<\/em>\u00a0\".<\/p>\n<p>Above all, Air France management is particularly proud of the successful launch of its \"New Generation\" airline: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/joon-air-france-start-up-20170925.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>JOON<\/strong><\/a>. \"\u00a0<em>We have succeeded in setting up a new carrier in just a few months, and the initial feedback from customers has been excellent. This is a new dynamic for our group, which will be amplified with the launch of JOON's first long-haul routes this spring.<\/em>\u00a0\"said <strong>Franck Terner<\/strong>Chief Executive Officer of Air France.<\/p>\n<p>This summer, JOON will be serving <strong>half a dozen destinations<\/strong>. Fortaleza and Mah\u00e9 will be the Group's major new routes, with the addition of new routes to Cape Town, Cairo and Teheran. \"\u00a0<em>There are many avenues we are exploring to integrate JOON into our development. It's possible that the company could also <strong>fly long-haul from Amsterdam<\/strong> and also serve popular leisure destinations such as Bali.\u00a0<\/em>\"said <strong>Pieter Elbers<\/strong>Chairman of the KLM Management Board.<\/p>\n<p>Air France-KLM will continue its network growth offensive in 2018. The Group has just announced the opening of routes from Paris on <strong>Bergen, Cork and Wroclaw<\/strong>. The company also confirms its return to <strong>Nairobi<\/strong> and <strong>Taipei<\/strong> this summer. Both destinations will be linked to Paris CDG with three frequencies per week.<\/p>\n<p>Another aspect of the Group's development: <strong>Transavia<\/strong>which finally made a profit last year and enjoys an excellent public image. The low-cost carrier will launch <strong>four routes from Lyon<\/strong> (Catania, Djerba, Malaga and Palermo), <strong>Nantes<\/strong> (Casablanca, Catania, Djerba and Rome) and <strong>Paris Orly<\/strong> (Alicante, Olbia and Rabat).<\/p>\n<p>Group management also confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-klm-flying-blue-20171106.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">relaunched its <strong>Flying Blue frequent flyer programme<\/strong><\/a> with a mileage-based fare system and the revitalisation of its airport lounge offer. More details on Air France's short-term future will be provided in the Group's new five-year strategic plan, which will be presented in June.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Air
