The transaction, worth $1.95 billion, will take effect in the second quarter of 2018 and will add almost 900 hotels and 87,000 rooms to the American group's offering. According to the MKG ranking, Wyndham Hotels will thus move from fourth to fifth position in the North American hotel market. <strong>third place in the world<\/strong>behind Marriott and Hilton, but ahead of the British group IHG. With more than 9,000 hotels in nearly 75 countries worldwide, the group now boasts 21 brands, including Wyndham Hotels of course, but also Ramada, Tryp by Wyndham, Howard Johnson and Dolce. \"<em>La Quinta will immediately become one of our flagship brands<\/em>said Geoff Ballotti, CEO of Wyndham Hotel Group. <em>It is an exceptionally strong
