Since opening in mid-2013 in the heart of the city centre, the Mainport has become a new home base for business people from all over the world, playing on the theme of travel. Designed by Feran Thomassen, the d\u00e9cor on each floor is dedicated to a continent, with old-school or futuristic world maps integrated into the furniture. The hotel has even had the good idea of placing a mini guest book in each of the 215 rooms: a sort of logbook in which each traveller can offer some good advice to the next occupants. When it comes to comfort, the Mainport spares no expense, with an Illy coffee maker in every room, a television integrated into the bathroom mirror, and even a private sauna and whirlpool bath in each of the 28 'spa' rooms. They make the Rotterdam Marriott a must for business travellers, especially as the hotel is directly linked to the International Congress Centre. The service, for its part, has found the perfect balance between attention and discretion, and manages to keep up with the sustained tempo of the dishes that follow one after the other, while displaying an imperturbable calm.
