At least that's what Traveldoo thinks, based on a study published on <strong>13 April<\/strong>. According to the tour operator, the French are used to strikes, which would explain why only <strong>50\u00a0%<\/strong> of them have <strong>postponed their April trip<\/strong>. This type of situation is not unusual, in fact a large majority (<strong>67\u00a0%<\/strong>) of those questioned have <strong>already been impacted<\/strong> by a strike in the past. It's the length of the strike that makes it problematic for businesses. This explains why so many business travellers rely on luck.<\/p>\n<p>Although professionals seem resigned on the whole, the industrial action is having a significant impact. Visit<strong> anxiety and fatigue levels<\/strong>This, compounded by a lack of information, is estimated at <strong>6\/10<\/strong> by travellers. The main concerns of travellers naturally revolve around <strong>waiting times<\/strong> (<strong>70\u00a0%<\/strong>) and <strong>cancellations<\/strong> coupled with <strong>lack of information<\/strong> (<strong>61 %<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<h3>A shortage of information as a source of anxiety<\/h3>\n<p>On this point, the Traveldoo study shows that there is considerable room for improvement among the various players involved. Starting with <strong>business travel agencies<\/strong>since only <strong>18% of respondents<\/strong> have been informed of <strong>disruptions and cancellations to their journeys<\/strong> by their TMC. \"\u00a0<em>However, this is an integral part of the remit of passenger services in the event of postponement or cancellation following a booking in an agency.<\/em>\u00a0\"underlines the report published by Traveldoo.\u00a0<em>an area where travel agencies can improve their efforts to keep their customers better informed<\/em>\u00a0\". Visit <strong>transporters<\/strong> don't seem to be immune to criticism either: only <strong>43 %<\/strong> of travellers are informed by their <strong>railway company<\/strong>and <strong>28 %<\/strong> by <strong>air carriers<\/strong>On the whole, business travellers go fishing for information themselves...<\/p>\n<p>Most of the information comes from <strong>personal procedures<\/strong> (<strong>73\u00a0%<\/strong>). As for the company, it is not really involved in this issue. Indeed, it is, <strong>seven out of ten employees<\/strong> <strong>have not received any specific instructions<\/strong> or official communication from their <strong>employer<\/strong>. According to Traveldoo, \"\u00a0<em>this lack of instructions is explained by the fact that, unlike an exceptional weather event, the strike does not entail any vital risk for passengers<\/em>\u00a0\". The authors of the report add: \"\u00a0<em>The exceptional duration of the strike makes it an event that is part of the daily routine for business travellers. It is difficult for companies to take measures and give indications over such a long period. Discussions on this subject tend to take place internally and on a discretionary, case-by-case basis, when employees ask for it.<\/em>\u00a0\".<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Online travel operator Traveldoo has surveyed business travellers against a backdrop of repeated strikes.
