It's a ritual for\u00a0OAG<\/strong>a company that analyses\u00a0airline schedules and frequencies<\/strong> from all over the world. Each year, OAG publishes the Top 20 international routes<\/strong> the busiest routes in the world, generally routes used intensively by business travellers. The latest OAG barometer analysed annual frequency on the major routes, seat capacity and passenger volume over the period from January to December 2017<\/strong>. An excellent way for travel and business managers toanticipate price trends<\/strong> on certain air routes, or to assess which routes will have difficulty meeting demand.<\/p>\n

Of the twenty lines selected by OAG, 14 are in Asia<\/strong>This is proof, if proof were needed, that demand for air travel is now being driven by this continent. Two of the world's busiest routes are intra-European<\/strong> and two others within the United States. On the American continent<\/strong>In fact, the bulk of air demand continues to be domestic. In the top 20, there is only one route between the Americas and Europe, and only one domestic route in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

The axis Hong Kong - Taipei<\/strong> is the world's leading line, with more than 6.5 million passengers<\/strong>followed by Jakarta<\/a>–Singapore <\/a>with 4.7 million. Europe is a long way behind: the first two international routes - London Heathrow\/Dublin and London Heathrow\/Amsterdam<\/a> - attracted just under 1.9 million annual passengers in 2017. In any case, France is not included in this ranking...<\/p>\n
