{"id":75071,"date":"2018-06-19T16:37:13","date_gmt":"2018-06-19T14:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=75071"},"modified":"2018-06-20T11:24:36","modified_gmt":"2018-06-20T09:24:36","slug":"thalys-schiphol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/thalys-schiphol","title":{"rendered":"Thalys rolls out its plans up to 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After passing the <strong>7 million passengers<\/strong> transported in 2017 and had a good first half of 2018, <strong>Thalys<\/strong> is actively preparing its future. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/interview-agnes-ogier-ceo-de-thalys-20150331.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Agn\u00e8s Ogier<\/strong><\/a>the chief executive of the European rail company, lifted the veil on <strong>19 June<\/strong> in the Paris offices of Thalys, on several projects scheduled for <strong>2018-2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A new <strong>Thalys kiosk<\/strong> was first created in <strong>Brussels-Midi station<\/strong>. A revamped Thalys.com website and mobile application will then be launched at the end of the year. <strong>back to school 2018<\/strong>Digitalisation remains a priority in order to meet new customer needs. \"\u00a0<em>New functions will make it even easier for our customers to buy, exchange or refund products...<\/em>\" she adds. On this date, the <strong>e-kiosk press<\/strong> offered in the Premium category will be enhanced with new reading offers including novels, comics and tourist guides. Finally, Thalys hopes to be distributed again in Germany by the <strong>Deutsche Bahn<\/strong> on its various channels. Negotiations between the two railway companies have begun and could be concluded before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<h3>New network extensions<\/h3>\n<p>If the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/thalys-supprime-lille-amsterdam-20180315.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">line <strong>Lille-Amsterdam<\/strong> will be stopped<\/a> the <strong>10 December<\/strong> Thalys is announcing the creation of a new train service in <strong>April 2019<\/strong> services from the Marne-La-Vall\u00e9e Chessy and Marne-La-Vall\u00e9e Chessy TGV stations <strong>Roissy-CDG<\/strong> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/bruxelles-louverture-europeenne-2-20160129.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Brussels<\/strong><\/a> then Antwerp, Rotterdam, the Dutch airport of <strong>Schiphol<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-navigation-en-3-0-20180404.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amsterdam<\/a>. The two daily round trips will take 1h30 to the Belgian capital and 3h40 to its Dutch counterpart. \"\u00a0<em>We are aiming for <strong>300,000 passengers a year<\/strong> from 2021, of which <strong>business travellers connected<\/strong> on the airports served<\/em>\" Agn\u00e8s Ogier points out that <strong>5 economic hubs<\/strong> will be connected. Contacts with the airline group <strong>Air France-KLM<\/strong> are currently underway. A second leisure line will be tested between <strong>Brussels and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/bordeaux-renaissance-grande-vitesse-20170703.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bordeaux<\/a><\/strong> (in 4h07) every Saturday from the end of June to the end of August 2019.<\/p>\n<h3>Redesigned trains from the end of 2019<\/h3>\n<p>Following the technical maintenance operation launched in 2016, Thalys will be launching a vast project to <strong>interior renovation of its 26 trains<\/strong> from autumn 2019 to the end of the year. <strong>2022<\/strong>. This project, codenamed <strong>\"RubY<\/strong> represents an investment of \u20ac55m per year over the period for the company. A revamped train will be introduced on the network every 3 to 4 months. Retaining the red colour so dear to Thalys, these trains will feature new seats in both classes, a more versatile bar area (where seats can be sold in the event of a large number of passengers), more modern and more comfortable seats, and a more modern design. <strong>luggage areas<\/strong> capacity by 7%. These 28 additional seats in Comfort 2 will be obtained thanks to the <strong>deletion of the exhibition<\/strong> in Comfort 1, which was underused.<\/p>\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>The aim of this interior renewal is to increase the comfort and pleasure our passengers enjoy during their journey. This has guided our reflections on the design and warmth of the cars, the quality of the materials used and our attention to detail.<\/em>\" stresses Agn\u00e8s Ogier. From <strong>USB sockets<\/strong> in Comfort 1 and <strong>screens<\/strong> to inform passengers in 4 languages will be installed in the trains.
