After a show, or for a business meeting<\/strong>I often choose Rosa Mexicano, a Mexican restaurant on Columbus Avenue, where guacamole and margaritas are de rigueur. Seeing other people doing sport or going for a walk, being out in nature for a while, motivates me.<\/p>\n

I live very close to Union Square. Which means that, when I have time, I can pop into the Meatpacking District to enjoy the High Line and, above all, the city. admire works of American art<\/strong> of the new Whitney Museum. I love this building designed by Renzo Piano, with its terraces and views over the city. As well as the Edward Hopper collection, you can discover a large number of contemporary artists. Afterwards, having a drink in the bar of the Standard Hotel, just a stone's throw away, is always a pleasure, especially for the view.<\/p>\n

When I'm preparing for a new role, I like to wander around the Metropolitan Museum looking for a connection between music and the visual arts. I also like to find beautiful dresses for the events I have to attend. Some of my favourite boutiques are Sachin & Babi and Intermix, a fashion chain<\/strong>. For beautiful jewellery to wear on stage, I often opt for Tamsen Z by Anne Ziff, by appointment only.<\/p>\n

I also give a lot of my time to charities such as Time in Kids, which helps disadvantaged children to develop their creativity, and I teach as a volunteer at the Kaufman Center for Music, whose concerts I recommend.<\/p>\n

As I live not far from the Flatiron, I also like to explore this area. My latest discovery is the Freehand, a hotel whose cocktail bar, Simon & The Whale, is fabulous. Not only can you drink the Three Sails - I'll be damned,<\/strong> but you can also see works of art created by students. It's wonderful.<\/p>\n
