The American company has unveiled <strong>the first biometric terminal<\/strong> at the world's busiest international airport, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson. Specifically Terminal F, which is home to Delta, Aeromexico, Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic Airways.<\/p>\n<p>Since December, travellers have been able to experience <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/technologies-biometrie-voyage-20171011.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">facial recognition technology<\/a> at every stage of their journey: check-in at the self-service kiosks, baggage drop-off, identity check and finally boarding from any gate in Terminal F. <strong>To take advantage of this innovation<\/strong>Passengers travelling directly to an international destination must have provided their passport details when checking in online, or scan their passport on arrival at the airport. They must then identify their face on the screen of the kiosks installed in the entrance hall, then approach the cameras installed at the customs checkpoint and at the boarding gate. Is the light green? All you have to do is continue on your way.<\/p>\n<p>The roll-out of this technology to all points of contact, launched in mid-October in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), (ATL) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), will save an average of two seconds when boarding, or <strong>nine minutes<\/strong> when boarding a jumbo jet, according to the data collected. \"\u00a0<em>For passengers checking in their baggage, we are waiving the passport requirement up to four times per departure.<\/em>said Gil West, Delta's Chief Operating Officer. The airline does not intend to stop at this initiative and plans to equip its Detroit hub from 2019.
