It is now sealed. Since his arrival at the head of<strong>Air France KLM<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/revolution-canadienne-air-france-klm-20180820.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Benjamin Smith<\/a><\/strong> had made no secret of his doubts about this hybrid company, with its ambiguous positioning. For many observers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/joon-condamnee-disparaitre-evoluer-20181210.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joon<\/strong> was doomed to disappear or evolve<\/a>. The company's demise was even announced by various media outlets last November, prompting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/joon-fin-figaro-dementi-air-france-20181130.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air France to publish a denial<\/a> : \"<em>Air France-KLM denies reports that it has decided to cease operating Joon. <strong>No such decision<\/strong> has been taken<\/em>\"it said at the time.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_82163\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82163\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/joon-interieur.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-82163\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/joon-interieur.jpg\" alt=\"Joon\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/joon-interieur.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/joon-interieur-300x199-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-82163\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The management of Air France KLM confirmed on Thursday the planned disappearance of Joon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the wake of the publication of the Group's good traffic results for 2018 - <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/2018-record-air-france-20190110.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air France KLM<\/a> exceeded the <strong>100 million passengers<\/strong> - Benjamin Smith has therefore finally decided to close the Joon chapter. The airline's employees will be integrated into the Air France workforce, as will all the carrier's operations. \"\u00a0<em>The end of Joon signals the return of routes, aircraft and cabin crew to Air France!<\/em>says the union with satisfaction.\u00a0<strong>UNSA CABIN CREW<\/strong> in a press release with the evocative title: \"\u00a0<em><strong>Bye bye Joon<\/strong>an historic agreement that puts cabin crew back at the heart of Air France\".<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>the brand has been difficult to understand from the outset by customers, employees, markets and investors<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On Thursday, the Air France KLM group confirmed the decision. In a paragraph strangely entitled <strong>\"\u00a0<em>A project for the future of Joon\".<\/em><\/strong>the press release reads: \"\u00a0<em>After numerous exchanges with employees and customers, and discussions with the unions, we have decided to launch a project to look at the future of the Joon brand and the future of the airline.<strong>integration of Joon employees and aircraft within Air France.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>Despite the <strong>undeniably positive impacts<\/strong> the remarkable work of the Joon teams who launched the company and brought it to life. <strong>difficult to understand<\/strong> by customers, by employees, by markets, by investors. The <strong>multiple brands<\/strong> has created <strong>complexity<\/strong> and has unfortunately <strong>weakened the power of the Air France brand<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em><em>The integration of Joon into Air France should bring a number of benefits, including<strong>harmonisation<\/strong> fleet, products and brand. Operations management would be improved thanks to a shared fleet of aircraft. All Joon flights currently sold or for sale would of course be operated by Joon until the project is finalised, when they would be taken over by Air France. The simplification of the brand portfolio, capitalising on the Air France brand, is an undeniable asset for our customers, our employees and all our partners.
