Yet it would be hard to find anywhere else on the continent a city of 85,000 inhabitants with the same influence as Luxembourg - a city that is both a financial centre and a major political decision-making centre for the European Union. It would also be hard to find a city and, further afield, a country as open as the Grand Duchy, where 41,% of the 47,6200 inhabitants are non-Luxembourgers, not to mention the 125,000 cross-border commuters who travel to Luxembourg every day to work. It's true that with a GDP per capita of almost 65,000 euros, the \"Gibraltar of the North\" remains highly attractive.
