We're likely to have to reckon with a major new player in the TMC landscape. The 10 April<\/strong>Travel Leaders Group has officially launched its conquest of the international travel business, unveiling the list of the 40 agencies joining its network. On the French market<\/strong>is Marietton<\/strong> Development SAS (Havas Voyages \/ Ailleurs Business).<\/p>\n

\"\u00a0We are in the process of creating a network of branches that will serve as the backbone of our ability to respond to greater opportunities, both regionally and internationally.<\/em>\u00a0\"warns Roger E. Block, CTC, Chairman of the Travel Leaders Network. \"\u00a0These agencies, now supported by the scale, technology and tools available through Travel Leaders, are able to offer an even more personalised level of service to their customers in their respective regions.\u00a0<\/em>\"he adds.<\/p>\n

For a player like Marietton, this means not only a range of technological tools (online booking, hotel programme, DMC network) that it can offer its corporate customers, but also the possibility of extending this customer portfolio to new, larger accounts, with the ability to respond to global invitations to tender. In short, the company's negotiating power with both customers and suppliers has been revised upwards.<\/p>\n

As for the selection criteria that went into making this list - Marietton claims exclusivity on the French market - Mr Block explains: \"Marietton is the only company in France to offer a complete range of products. Our plan is to sign up an exclusive representative of Travel Leaders in key countries around the world. We engage partners who can offer a complete portfolio of corporate, leisure and event services and who are recognised in their country and by their peers as high-performing, service-focused agencies.<\/em> \". It should be noted, however, that Certares, the investment fund behind Travel Leaders Group, is also involved in Marietton D\u00e9veloppement, as well as in American Express GBT<\/strong> since the creation of the joint venture in 2014. \" Travel Leaders, which is owned by the same shareholder as Marietton D\u00e9veloppement (Certares), is the largest travel agency network in North America, with more than 6,000 agencies and 42,000 travel consultants.<\/em> \"notes the press release issued by the French agency.<\/p>\n
