The results of the very long-haul service from London to Perth\u00a0<\/a>Does this encourage Qantas to consider other routes?<\/h3>\n

Carole G\u00e9 -<\/strong> The results after a year of operation have exceeded all our expectations. The line has become cost-effective<\/strong> after just a few weeks of operation, the occupancy rate has reached an average of 94%<\/strong> and, thanks to the performance of our B787 Dreamliner<\/strong> on this route, Qantas recorded a flight reliability rate of 99.5%. The London - Perth route marks the start of a<\/strong> unprecedented investment<\/strong> in the development of new long-haul routes. Our teams are currently working on the implementation of direct flights from Australia's east coast to London and New York by 2022<\/strong>. This development is known as \"Project Sunrise<\/strong>. We challenged Airbus and Boeing to enable their next-generation aircraft under development - the Airbus A350 ULR and Boeing 777X - to fly these distances at full capacity non-stop. A direct flight would reduce the total journey time by four hours on a Sydney-London route and by almost three hours on a Melbourne- London route.New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n
