{"id":88965,"date":"2019-09-18T14:44:19","date_gmt":"2019-09-18T12:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=88965"},"modified":"2022-01-14T14:16:03","modified_gmt":"2022-01-14T13:16:03","slug":"thalys-klm-brussels-amsterdam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/thalys-klm-brussels-amsterdam","title":{"rendered":"Thalys on the road for KLM between Brussels and Amsterdam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\"\u00a0<em>Committed to creating a more <strong>sustainable<\/strong> for air transport<\/em>\" , <strong>KLM<\/strong> announced the abolition of the <strong>29 March 2020<\/strong> a daily rotation between the airports of <strong>Brussels Zaventem<\/strong> and<strong>Amsterdam Schiphol<\/strong>replaced by <strong>25,600 seats<\/strong> in Premium or Standard class on board <strong>TGV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/thalys-schiphol-20180619.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thalys<\/a><\/strong>. The Dutch company, which currently operates <strong>five flights a day<\/strong> - in 50 minutes - between the two airports, which are only 200 km apart, will gradually eliminate all pre- and post-shipment flights for passengers on its international routes. This decision has been made easier by the existence of Thalys connections between Brussels-Midi station and Schiphol airport, which take just 1 hour 34 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, KLM is responding favourably to a motion tabled last March in the European Parliament. <strong>Dutch Parliament<\/strong> on eliminating these flights in favour of transport solutions that emit less CO2. This is in line with the growing environmental concerns of governments and its customers, but also of more and more companies. The advantage for KLM, however, is that the eventual abolition of these short flights will make it possible to<strong>use available air slots<\/strong> from Schiphol to open or increase services to other destinations <strong>long-haul<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>Intermodal transport combining rail and air remains complex<\/em>\" notes <strong>Pieter Elbers<\/strong>as head of KLM. <em>This reduction from 5 to 4 frequencies is a good way of continuing to work on this subject and gaining more experience in Air &amp; Rail.<\/em>\" he adds.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From March, KLM will be reducing its frequencies between Brussels and Amsterdam.
