The correspondence service Worldwide by easyJet<\/strong> has existed since 2018<\/strong> <\/a>at half a dozen of the company's bases, including Amsterdam<\/a>, Berlin<\/a> Tegel, Edinburgh, London-Gatwick and Milan-Malpensa. As announced by La Tribune a few days earlier, the airline will indeed be launching a \"self connect<\/strong>The main innovation is the baggage transfer service that easyJet and its partners will be offering at Orly, thanks to an agreement with the ground handling company G3S Alyzia. Alyzia will transfer baggage immediately after the passenger has collected it from the delivery carousels. Passengers will then check in for their second flight at a special \"Easyjet Priority Plus\" counter. Although passengers will still have to make part of their own transfer, the new service will reduce the time spent in the terminal and the various baggage handling operations. The service is billed at an additional cost of around 20 euros.<\/p>\n

Until now, Worldwide by easyJet has simply allowed customers to purchase connecting flights with a minimum connection time of two hours at Orly, in order to cover any delays. Thanks to an agreement with consolidator Dohop, easyJet now offers protection against flight delays or cancellations. Dohop is responsible for finding an alternative route and, if necessary, for covering ancillary costs such as meals or accommodation.<\/p>\n

The partnership with G3S Alyzia will make Worldwide by easyJet even more attractive. At Orly, the airline already works in partnership with Corsair and The Company<\/a>which will connect the two carriers' long-haul networks in the United States and the Caribbean. But what about the rest? The easyJet network at Orly is currently relatively limited, with around twenty destinations listed as direct flights on its booking site, and half of these during the winter months, with daily flights to Berlin Tegel, Geneva<\/a>Milan-Linate, Naples, Nice, Pisa, Rome Fiumicino, Toulouse and Venice. Faro airport is also served twice weekly.<\/p>\n

The potential for connecting passengers therefore remains relatively low, apart from possible flows of passengers from Berlin, Geneva, Milan, Nice, Rome, Toulouse and Venice wishing to travel to the United States or the West Indies. Even if other airlines join the Worldwide by easyJet service at Orly, the attractiveness of the connecting hub remains low, due to the lack of a sufficiently dense schedule at Paris' second airport.<\/p>\n

On the Orly side, Air France therefore has little to fear, especially as it can also increase its power by offering a system of connections between Transavia flights and those to the French overseas departments at Orly. On the other hand, if easyJet were to attack the Paris CDG<\/strong> - according to La Tribune - the French flag carrier could feel directly threatened. The low-cost carrier's winter network comprises nearly thirty destinations, and the agreements signed with Cathay Pacific, Etihad, Norwegian and Singapore Airlines could effectively destabilise Air France-KLM...<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
