These are the findings of the Green Travel 2020 report published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/kanoo-travel-american-express-gbt-20190820.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Express Global Business Travel<\/a> (GBT), which surveyed a panel of travel managers (53% of responses), purchasing managers (16%) and executive managers (16%), all from large companies around the world. Another striking figure, particularly at a time when the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/flygskam-domestique-france-20200214.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he flygskam movement<\/a> is becoming more widespread: only 22% of respondents say that they include the following in their travel programmes <strong>alternatives<\/strong> to reduce their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>This report shows that companies have become aware of the importance of a responsible travel policy. However, and this is where <strong>the rub<\/strong>However, these policies mainly measure emissions directly linked to the company's activity, and much less indirect emissions. For example, 79% of the companies surveyed do not require their preferred airlines to have environmental certification. Yet business travel is primarily concerned with <strong>indirect emissions<\/strong> level 3, i.e. those relating to employee transport or accommodation. \" <em>This lack of interest in indirect emissions is a major obstacle to the development of green travel.<\/em> \"says Harris Manlutac, Head of Global Business Consulting APAC at American Express GBT.<\/p>\n<p>The travel agency is highlighting a number of <strong>good practice<\/strong> to reduce the impact of business travel: travel light and paperless, use car-sharing applications such as Lyft Line or uberPOOL, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/avion-futur-rapide-durable-20191105.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">favour direct flights<\/a> to limit the number of take-offs and landings, as well as the Economy cabin, with its lower carbon cost per passenger. <strong>prefer certified hotels<\/strong> and negotiate prices with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/environnement-hotellerie-durable-20191231.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">establishments involved in all these small gestures<\/a> that make all the difference. Finally, tracking the carbon emissions generated by business travel and offsetting them are also part of the advice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Green Travel
