Nor is there any interruption to traffic on the regional TER line linking Strasbourg to Bale CFF in Switzerland or the line linking Mulhouse to Freiburg in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>However, the movement of people is subject to controls as the Robert Koch Institut, the institute for virology and health monitoring, on Wednesday evening classified the Grand Est region as a <strong>\"risk zone<\/strong> due to the very strong spread of coronavirus cases in the Haut-Rhin region around Mulhouse. Of the 587 cases of active contamination recorded on the evening of 11th, 359 were in the Haut-Rhin and 108 in the Bas-Rhin. Risk zone\" status means that people coming from such classified areas must be quarantined for 14 days. This applies to <strong>frontier workers<\/strong> going to work in Germany. There are <strong>42,000 French people<\/strong> working in the Land of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg and <strong>2,000 Germans<\/strong> to Alsace and Lorraine.<\/p>\n<p>All border crossings from the Grand Est to Germany are now subject to checks, with police officers asking passengers if they have any symptoms. Any suspected cases are immediately referred to a medical unit.
