Julien Chambert -<\/strong> The ability to work remotely is in the DNA of CBT Conseil, and a Business continuity plan<\/strong> had already been put in place in response to a call for tenders some time ago. Our teams stopped coming into the office a week before 16 March, and we had already been adopting barrier measures for some time. Since H1N1, we had finally retained some good practices. So everything was fairly simple to implement internally. As far as our customers were concerned, the impact on business was very strong. Two or three weeks after 16 March, all our projects were suspended, postponed or extremely slowed down.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> We tried to speed up certain projects, but in the end, the greatest solidarity we could show our customers was not to bore them during these three weeks! We've organised webinars, and we're going to offer interested companies two hours of free consulting on a travel & expense topic of their choice. This could be an opportunity to take a step back from the situation.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> We use project management tools such as Trello, and we're going to be testing solutions that are a little more graphical, such as Asana. In terms of videoconferencing<\/strong>We work internally with the Google for Business Suite, and externally we use Zoom. Even if the application is a bit disparaged at the moment, it works very well and the experience is very fluid.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> With five years in business, CBT Conseil is a highly agile organisation, as demonstrated by the implementation of the business continuity plan. We also have the advantage of being able to rely on a treasury<\/strong> solid. You might think that 2020 is a done deal, but we're now working towards 2021. What's certain is that we won't be doing this for two years in a row. The four years of investment, work and savings will be consumed in six months. At the same time, I'm also the founder of TnE Vision<\/strong>which is a reporting tool. In this case, I was worried at the beginning about this start-up<\/strong> very young. And finally, we've realised that there's a real craze for this start-up. BpiFrance has continued to award us the French Tech grant, and investors are calling us back to reaffirm their interest and confidence, despite the crisis.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> In my opinion, certain travel agencies<\/strong> are going to have major problems, because the cash flow is not necessarily there. The trend is not good. First of all, the legal framework will have to allow us to get out again, and then we'll have to wait for the borders to open up. I wouldn't be surprised to see a concentration of travel agencies, but also of airlines that won't be able to take back all their slots or frequencies immediately. In the end, the players who will be able to take over most quickly are those whose business is mainly domestic.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> We interviewed our customers and those of our partners. For many of them, their teams will not get back on the train or plane until the social distancing<\/strong> will not be guaranteed. This still means eliminate a third of the places <\/strong>It's complicated on a train, and even more so in the air, because we also have to make sure that airports can adapt. Dubai is looking into the possibility of automatically checking the temperature of passengers in transit. We need to be aware of the impact. Take the example of a healthy professional on a five-day business trip to Dubai. With the air conditioning on in the plane, in the hotel or at his supplier's, he catches a perfectly ordinary cold. On his return, he is tested \"positive\" during his stopover: how will the company deal with this? Some customers are not prepared to manage this risk, and will block this type of trip in such a context.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> Part of me would like to say yes. I'd like to say that things are going to change. For the last three years, at every conference I've given, I've been explaining that we need to travel less and better, for reasons of CSR, environmental protection and the environment. well-being<\/strong> of the employee<\/a>and optimise its budgets and economic performance. But the message is not always heard. TGV prices are so much higher than air fares on certain routes... And I don't see why SNCF would change its business model. In a few months' time, people will be taking the plane again, simply for price reasons. A lot of changes were envisaged after the 2008 crisis, there was the promise of a different world... In the end, I didn't see any fundamental difference, except for the tightening of audit rules. But the behaviour is the same. I think people have a short-term memory, although I'm not saying that in a few months' time everything will be forgotten, because this is an unprecedented and unprecedented crisis.<\/p>\n Julien Chambert -<\/strong> A number of good behaviours will take root, in particular when it comes to using videoconferencing<\/strong>. As far as business travel is concerned, attitudes will not necessarily have changed, but the health crisis will be followed by a financial crisis that looks set to last. Coface has already announced a forecast of 25% insolvencies: that's a huge figure! The biggest companies are going to have to reassure their margins and cash flow, which generally starts with cutting costs. And this will be visible in travel volumes. So this will not be an ideological decision, but simply a financial one.<\/strong>. Conversely, the SMES<\/strong> <\/a>will do everything in its power to win back markets, everywhere. In this kind of situation, the catchment areas of SMEs expand. I also hope that this crisis will encourage companies to make progress on data and reporting. They have already discussed air fares, renegotiated with travel agencies, bookings are made online... All that remains is to make progress on reporting. There may also be an impact on the management of the last kilometre, and especially on the well-being<\/strong> travellers and their security<\/strong><\/a>. We've realised that everything is a stress factor when you have to repatriate teams in a hurry and you realise that you don't know exactly where they are. Security is therefore going to be more than ever a major issue, but also a global one, in the sense that it affects the hotel reservation tool, the travel policy, the updating of profile sheets... This could lead to changes in the management of travellers' well-being.
