These fares are valid for all flights on and after September 1. The new fares will be familiar to passengers who are used to flying under the Lufthansa banner.<\/p>\n<p>The five tariffs will be open for booking from next week with <strong>three classes available in Economy Class and two in Business Class<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Economy<\/strong> <strong>Light :<\/strong> the lowest fare offering no flexibility and suitable for budget-conscious travellers travelling with hand luggage only.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economy<\/strong> <strong>Classic :<\/strong> the standard fare for those wishing to travel with certain benefits, such as a 23 kg checked baggage allowance and a limited degree of flexibility.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economy<\/strong> <strong>Flex :<\/strong> This fare offers travellers great flexibility in organising their journey, including free rebooking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whatever your Economy Class fare, an 8 kg piece of hand baggage is included, as well as a personal accessory. <strong>This uniform offer across the entire Lufthansa Group means that connecting flights can be standardised within the group.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Brussels Airlines offers two Business Class options: .<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Business Saver :<\/strong> for passengers who want all the comforts of Business Class with a degree of flexibility.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Business Flex :<\/strong> for passengers who want all the comfort of Business Class and total flexibility, including a no-fee refund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Perfectly suited to the needs of business travellers, it includes - regardless of fare - two pieces of hand luggage weighing 8 kg each, plus a personal accessory.<\/p>\n<section class=\"story__content\">\n<h2>The need for harmonisation within the Luthansa group of companies<\/h2>\n<p>The introduction of these new fare classes on the short- and medium-haul network enables Brussels Airlines to offer its passengers a seamless and consistent travel experience across the entire group. The group includes Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss.<\/p>\n<p>By aligning its offer, the Belgian airline will also benefit from the Group's investments in IT, the development of new products and the improvement of the passenger experience.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Brussels Airlines will preserve its Belgian identity. For example, the carrier will continue to offer exclusive in-flight catering such as that provided by the Belgian company Foodmaker.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of fare class, all people with the same reservation will be seated together. It is also possible to modify all reservations, regardless of fare.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The carrier specifies that payments for services and flights can now only be made by credit card.<\/strong>. This applies to payments such as excess baggage or in-flight services.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the covid-19 pandemic, <span class=\"il\">Brussels<\/span> <span class=\"il\">Airlines<\/span> reported a loss of 182 million euros in the first six months of 2020. First-half revenue fell to 252 million euros, down 63% from 684 million euros in the first half of 2019. Total passenger numbers reached 1.59 million compared to 4.85 million a year earlier, down 67%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Since the resumption of flights in mid-June, the airline has offered flights to 45 cities in Europe and a dozen cities in Africa and North America.<\/strong>This is just over half of the destinations initially planned for summer 2020.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brussels Airlines is aligning its short- and medium-haul fares with those of the Lufthansa group.
