It is once again becoming more difficult for French travellers<\/a> to travel within the European Union without prior testing for covid-19 and\/or quarantine in the country of destination. In view of the resurgence of cases of covid in France (52,114 additional cases tested positive between 7 and 13 September), theGermany and Switzerland have adopted new restrictive measures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After the Ile-de-France and Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d'Azur regions, ranked in<\/strong> \"Risk areas <\/strong>by the German authorities, the country also placed on the same list on 9 SeptemberThe regions of Corsica, New Aquitaine, Occitania and Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes.<\/strong> In Germany, any area where the number of covid-positive patients exceeds the threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants is considered a \"risk zone\".<\/p>\n

For travellers coming from these regions, it is essential to complete a landing form <\/a><\/strong>before travelling to Germany and to register with the local health authorities so that their movements can be traced. Any breach of this rule is severely punished. A free screening test will be carried out and you will be quarantined pending the result.<\/p>\n

However, French nationals with a negative test result, taken 48 hours before their arrival, are exempt from quarantine. From 1 October, five days' isolation will be compulsory.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that cantons of Geneva and Vaud<\/strong> have been subject to the same restrictions in Germany since 9 September. Both countries are facing an upsurge in cases of covid on their territory.<\/p>\n

Switzerland reimposes compulsory quarantine<\/span><\/h2>\n

In fact, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health is concerned about a resurgence of the pandemic within its borders. It has just placed nine French regions on its red list. This classification affects Centre-Val de Loire, Corsica, Hauts-de-France, Ile-de-France, Normandy, New Aquitaine, Occitania, Pays de Loire and Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d'Azur.<\/strong>. Any territory with a positive covid test rate of 60 per 100,000 inhabitants is on the red list.<\/p>\n

From today onwards, travellers from these regions will have to observe the following measures quarantine<\/strong> ten days on entering Swiss territory.<\/p>\n

There is, however, some respite for regions bordering Germany and\/or Switzerland. They will not be classified as risk zones. This is to avoid undermining local economies that would suffer from restrictions on the movement of cross-border workers...<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
