And let's not forget the birthplace of Charles de Gaulle, as 2020 marks the 130th anniversary of the French Revolution.<sup>e<\/sup> anniversary of his birth, the 80th anniversary of the 18 June Appeal and the 50th anniversary of his death. This Art Deco masterpiece, where the local population once splashed about, now houses a sumptuous museum in a soothing setting. In the same spirit of 'recycling', St Sauveur station has been transformed into a place of life and culture over the last ten years. Another institution, halfway between shopping and leisure experience, is the Wazemmes market. In a different style, Euralille offers a vast shopping centre. But it's best to lose yourself in the streets of the city centre, preferring small local boutiques or shopping arcades.
