Just like the other rail operators, Lyria reduced its offer with the confinement imposed in France as in Switzerland. Since 5 November, the Franco-Swiss operator has been tightening up its frequencies between the two countries.
Lyria now only offers three daily return trips between France and Switzerland. Two daily frequencies are offered between Paris and Geneva - instead of eight previously. A daily liaisone also links Paris to Basel and Zurich. Direct links to Lausanne have been removed. Lyria states not charge any exchange or refund fees until 4 January.
Alternatively, travellers to Switzerland can use the TER Leman Express on Geneva. Trains run at the rate of one or two trains per hour between Geneva and Annemasse. The TER Grand Est also continues to operate between (Strasbourg-)Mulhouse and Basel with two to three trains per hour. At Basel's main station, passengers can take advantage of numerous connections to the rest of Switzerland.
