Le Travel Pass allows passengers toEmirates Airlines andEtihad Airways create a "digital passport". This will make it possible to check whether pre-departure tests or vaccinations satisfy the requirements imposed at the destination.
Passengers will also be able to share test and vaccination certificates with the relevant authorities and airlines to make their journey easier. The new application will also enable travellers to manage all their travel documents digitally and to produce health data throughout their travel experience.
Emirates will launch phase 1 in Dubai at April to validate PCR tests of COVID-19 before departure. Emirates travellers will be able to inform the airline of the status of their COVID-19 tests even before arriving at the airport, thanks to the application, which will transmit the details to the airline.
At EtihadThe Travel Pass will be available on certain flights from Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2021. If the experiment is a success, it will be extended to other destinations in the Etihad Airways network.
A la carte verification modules
According to Nick Careen, IATA Vice President, Airports, Passengers, Freight and Security, "IATA's Travel Pass is an important step towards a more efficient and secure air transport system. substantial upturn in international travel. The IATA Travel Pass was developed in four independent modules that can interact. These modules cover :

- the possibility for passengers to share their test results using their mobile device throughout their journey
These modules can work together to form a complete end-to-end solution. Or they can be used separately to complement systems developed by others. What's more, they are interoperable with other industry solutions.
IATA is also supporting a European Union initiative to create a covid-19 digital vaccination certificate. Greece is behind this initiative.
