Bringing together a large proportion of the world's rail services in a single technological solution was already one of Trainline's strengths. This independent platform brings together, via its website and mobile app, 270 rail and bus operators in 45 countries. That's millions of itineraries, fares and journey times. But with the preference for rail travel growing every day in line with the sustainable ambitions of travellers and businesses alike, the booking specialist is now launching a a true GDS for the railway world. In other words, just like in the airline industry, it is an essential hub for the distribution of rail services to travel agencies and their corporate customers.

Trainline already had a foothold in the world of business travel with its Business SolutionsThis will enable employees in the UK and Europe to book train tickets in 45 countries. All this is coupled with optimised visibility of train travel via a dashboard for managing expenditure and invoicing.

Trainline is now going one step further strengthens its position as a key player in distribution by providing a global API connection, described as simple and standardised, so that companies and offline or online agencies can connect to its system from a single source. This suite of offerings, known as Trainline Partner Solutions, includes the Carrier IT service, dedicated to carriers for retail sales and ticketing. But above all, with its Distribution Solutions service, Trainline enables TMCs to give their customers access to train routes, fares and journey times in many countries.

This makes integrating rail into their offer more affordable and less risky. " Trainline Partner Solutions allows us to integrate the French rail offer with a simple connection. This means we can easily offer our customers the widest choice of routes and prices for travelling sustainably" said Charles Lacroux, CEO of Ekotrip. Agency staff will also have access to an Agent Tool, which will enable them to process refunds and book tickets in complete transparency. This offer is complemented by Trainline's latest innovations, including real-time information and new payment methods. It's worth noting that the world of business travel won't be left out in the cold, as the technology is identical to that of the Trainline platform for the general public, which attracts around 90 million visitors every month.
