Expected to open on 1 September 2021, this fourth Parisian hotel of the Dutch group specialising in affordable lifestyle hotels will be located on the corner of the famous Parisian thoroughfare, 138 rue de la Boétie. After Paris-CDG, La Défense and the Lyon stationcitizenM is conquering a new district that is attractive to both business and leisure travellers, by moving into a building dating from the 1970s.
The venue, redesigned by the architects of Concrete Amsterdam and appropriately furnished by Vitra, stands out like all citizenMs for its a design and arty show with a mural by Lucky Left Hand - alias Steven Burke, wallpaper by Ai Wei Wei and photographic prints by JR and Frank Horvat. Contemporary art is also used in the decoration of 151 roomscitizenM has called on three up-and-coming French artists: Marie Guillard, Elvire Caillon and Mélodie Bachet.
In addition to its small, high-tech, design rooms, the hotel has three outdoor areas where picnic-inspired menus are served. One is on the ground floor, but the first floor in particular features a patio housing the canteenM food court, open 24 hours a day, while the hotel is crowned by the a rooftop called cloudM.
With this new hotel, citizenM now has 15 establishments in Europe and 23 worldwide. And soon there will be more, as the coming months will mark continued development of the brand in the United States. Already present in Boston, New York, Seattle and Washington, citizen M will open five hotels between now and the end of the year, including a second establishment in the American capital, citizenM Washington DC NoMa. At the same time, citizenM will be setting up in downtown Los Angeles, in the Union Square district of San Francisco, and also in Miami with two hotels, citizenM Miami Brickell and Miami World Center.
Also on the other side of the Atlantic, the brand will soon be appearing in Chicago, and other projects for a second hotel are under way in Seattle and San Francisco, in the SOMA district.
