
MaaS, mobility "as a service", is more topical every day. RATP recently unveiled a new version of its app, now known as Bonjour based on the acquisition of Mappy at the end of 2020 for routes and partnerships with urban mobility players such as Marcel VTC and Tier scooters.
For its part, the SNCF has just announced that its SNCF Assistant mobile companion will be available on ten new public transport networks. In partnership with airweb, the leader in paperless ticket sales, the app allows occasional or regular travellers to buy and validate their tickets electronically Belfort, Draguignan, Evreux, Maubeuge, Montbéliard, Les Sables d'Olonne, Saint-Lô, Saint Nazaire, Sophia Antipolis and Troyes. Since December 2020, five cities - Cholet, Poitiers, Guérande, Saint Brieuc and Nevers - have already offered this option. All this can be accessed from the app's home page by selecting "Public transport".
Since its launch in June 2019, one French person in four has downloaded the SNCF Assistantwhich provides real-time passenger information covering 80% of France's major conurbations. Whether in the Ile-de-France - for those with NFC-compatible smartphones - or in the Strasbourg conurbation, the app lets you buy and top up public transport tickets. As well as integrating SNCF long-distance and TER ticketsthe SNCF Assistant is deploying a wide range of mobility solutions with a taxi and VTC services via Uber - in Paris - and Karhoo in many French cities, as well as self-service scooters and bicycles in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Grenoble and Bordeaux, and home-work car-sharing with BlaBlaLines and Karos.
