Better links between stations in French-speaking Switzerland

Switzerland is investing massively in the "Leman2030" rail project, the most important applications of which are the creation of an underground station at Geneva Cornavin and the development of Lausanne as a major national and international rail hub. The project is worth €3.5 billion (CHF 3.8 billion).

Switzerland is anticipating an ever-increasing use of rail in future travel. It is therefore embarking on a gigantic modernisation project infrastructure along the the arc of Lake Genevathe largest project to date in French-speaking Switzerland.

This investment will primarily concern the Geneva-Lausanne axis. Passenger numbers are expected to exceed 100,000, double the current level.. But there will also be ramifications beyond Switzerland's borders, including France.
