Covid obliged Thalys to suspend the Premium class and its Welcome Bar for a time, as the catering on offer was not compatible with the health measures. This suspension is now coming to an end, as travellers will be able to take advantage of these offers from 5 September on high-speed trains linking France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Even if, of course, wearing a mask remains compulsory on board, except during catering, and social distancing must be respected when making a purchase at the Thalys Welcome Bar.

For the occasion, the airline has redesigned the gourmet meal served instead to its Premium customersThis is in addition to other benefits such as faster WiFi, free access to Lounges in Paris and Brussels, an online taxi booking service and a digital press offer.

Created by Belgian chef Frank Fol, the lunch and dinner dishes are based on vegetables and local produceAll meals are vegetarian. Depending on the time of day, passengers will also be offered breakfast or an aperitif. During the first month of the service's relaunch, a glass of Crémant de Bourgogne will be served to passengers. In addition, the Café Gourmet is making a comeback and includes a sweet or savoury treat as well as a drink.

At the same time, and for all travellers, the company is once again inviting them to the Thalys Welcome Bar to enjoy a sweet or savoury snack or sip a coffee. Digital pre-ordering of snacks and drinks has also made a comeback.

While the company is already involved in sustainable development, with trains powered by 100 % of green energy, it is now putting a new emphasis on waste sorting. In Premium class, all PET bottles and lidsAluminium cans, glass bottles and organic waste will now be sorted and recycled. And travellers will find sorting bins at the Welcome Bar to make it easier to recycle different types of waste.
