The Best Western network is continuing to expand in France, with a number of new hotels opened since the start of the autumn, including in the last few days in Caen with the Best Western Royal Hôtel. Located right in the city centre, on Place de la République, this hotel has 47 rooms, all with free high-speed Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs.

Earlier in October, Best Western had already added another hotel to its range, at Biarritz this one. Also located in the city centre, and just a few minutes' walk from the Grande Plage, this new member of the upmarket Best Western Plus range is part of the Société des Hôtels LittérairesThemed establishments pay tribute to great writers such as Marcel Proust, Arthur Rimbaud and Gustave Flaubert.

Completely renovated, the four-star hotel in Biarritz is now dedicated to Jules Verne. Quotations by the author on the walls, a library containing almost 500 works by the novelist translated into various languages, watercolours in the bedrooms: everything here is reminiscent of the world of the author of 20,000 leagues under the sea and Around the world in 80 days.

The Best Western Plus Hotel Littéraire Jules Verne has 77 rooms, including 51 classic rooms, 25 executive rooms with bathrobes, espresso machine and minibar, and a junior suite. The hotel also has a restaurant and a garden terrace with a heated outdoor swimming pool. For travellers who want to combine the discovery of the Basque coast with their business needs, the hotel adds a coworking space fully equipped.

Earlier in September, Best Western strengthened the presence of its Sure Hotels budget brand in the birthplace of Jules Verne, Nantes. Located near the Beaujoire floral park and easily accessible from the TGV train station and the airport, the Sure Hotel by Best Western Nantes Beaujoire has a restaurant and bar, as well as a wide range of 236 rooms. In each of them, travellers will find a practical element for medium or long stays in the City of the Dukes, with a fully-equipped kitchenette. Business travellers will also appreciate the presence of eight seminar rooms in the hotel and a car park with over 150 spaces.

Finally, Best Western also has a new, more leisure-oriented address in the south of France, in Lattes, near Montpellier. Close to the beaches and the Etang de Méjean nature reserve, the 60-room hotel has a swimming pool, petanque area, restaurant and sun terrace.

An increasingly digital customer relationship

Already committed to digitalising its customer relations, notably through the introduction of a chatbot on its website and the use of Facebook Messenger and Apple Message instant messaging, Best Western is continuing along this omnichannel path. Other new features are currently being rolled out, with the integration of WhatsApp as a new means of communicating with its customers. In addition, Best Western has equipped itself with a voice assistant, a voicebotavailable on the bestwestern.co.uk website and on the Google Home connected speaker. This virtual assistant will be able to answer customers' main questions and, if it runs out of time, will redirect questions to the physical customer service teams. In a similar vein, Best Western France's telephone customer service has been equipped with a callbot.
