The top-of-the-range lifestyle brand W Hotels made its debut in Rome next to the Spanish Steps. For this Roman escapade, the hotel integrates the walls of two 19th-century palaces on the Via Liguria converted into a hotel under the direction of the Meyer Davis studio. The complex blends traditional architecture with a Roman expression of design, particularly in the hotel lobby, the W Lounge, which comes alive in the evening to the sound of DJ sets. Colourful leather furniture and an eclectic choice of seating, black and grey marble floors, sculptures and works of art, a hand-painted mural by artist Costanza Alvarez de Castro inspired by Roman gardens: the lifestyle dimension specific to the brand of the Marriott group is present in Rome as it is in the sixty or so establishments that W Hotels has around the world.

Glazed from floor to ceiling, with marble bathrooms and a décor that plays on bright colours - burnt orange, deep red, leafy green, most of the 147 rooms and 5 suites have a balcony or private terrace. " W Rome brings together unexpected design, welcoming social spaces and the extraordinary talents of chefs Ciccio Sultano and Fabrizio Fiorani to create a refreshing and highly experiential interpretation of modern luxury." said Tom Jarrold, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide.

In this setting, the Roman hotel offers its residents and local guests a Sicilian cuisine restaurant, Giano, run by Michelin-starred chef Ciccio Sultano, complemented by an inner courtyard, Giardino Clandestino, where guests can enjoy an aperitivo featuring Sicilian street food. Also in the open air, the hotel is topped by thea rooftop bar with views over the city. On the sweet side, the W Rome has teamed up with renowned pastry chef Fabrizio Fiorani to offer a range of homemade ice creams and sweet specialities. For relaxation, there is an infinity pool on the terrace, a gym studio designed by athlete Pietro Boselli and a concept store.
