DoubleTree: six new openings in Europe, including Lyon

The business and upscale DoubleTree by Hilton brand is strengthening its presence in Europe with the announcement of six new openings in Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania as well as in France, in Lyon, near the Eurexpo exhibition centre.

DoubleTree by Hilton is continuing its European expansion. First launched last year in Germany, in Frankfurtand in Belgium, at Brusselsthe business and top-of-the-range brand will complete its list of addresses in business metropolises of the continent with six new openings, some of which took place at the very end of last year. For example, in Sittard in the Netherlands, with a 90-room hotel housed in a historic former bishop's college, and in Hanover in Germany, with the franchise takeover of a 200-room hotel which will be undergoing a renovation phase to move upmarket.

Since January, the brand is also present in Lyon with a contemporary 141-room hotel and four flexible meeting rooms. Located in the Saint-Priest technology park, home to more than 200 companies, the DoubleTree by Hilton Lyon Eurexpo is aimed directly at business travellers. What's more, it's just a few minutes from the Lyon Exhibition Centre, the second largest MICE venue in France.

Another hotel ideally placed for business trips, the DoubleTree by Hilton Milan Malpensa Solbiate Olona will open its doors next April. Close to the international airport, the hotel is also a 15-minute drive from the Malpensa Fiere exhibition centre and will offer 246 rooms as well as a convention centre with seven meeting rooms.

In the years to come, the brand will also set its sights on the east of the continent, with the opening in 2023 of a new showroom at Budapest DoubleTree by Hilton Buda Hills Hotel & Residences in the Pösingermajor district. In 2024, the American brand will appear in the historic centre of Brasov, RomaniaIt is the country's second most visited city after Bucharest, thanks to its medieval past. But it's also a city with six industrial parks. That's why the hotel has a meeting area for business travellers, a casino for tourists and a sky bar for everyone.

Offering contemporary accommodation, state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces, thoughtful wellness facilities and unique culinary experiences, these new properties continue to illustrate the brand's successful global growth strategy.
