Easyjet remains the leading carrier at London Gatwick airport and it confirms this for the French market. The low-cost carrier will launch three weekly flights to Limoges from 1 May -Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Flights will operate until 27 October. Limoges airport will be the 23rd French airport to join the EasyJet network. Limoges is already linked to London Stansted by Ryanair.
Easyjet will also be landing in Rennes twice a week From 2 May to 24 June, every Monday and Friday. Between 25 June and 3 September, the company will increase its weekly frequencies to 5. Flights will take off every day except Wednesday and Sunday. After 3 September, Easyjet will return to its two weekly frequencies. London Gatwick will be linked to 16 towns in France during the summer season.
This is a positive development for passengers, particularly business travellers. With the end of the pandemic, the South London hub has regained its status as an intercontinental airport. For this summer season, Gatwick is benefiting from routes to 30 intercontinental destinations.
New features include lines on Bangkok/Singapore (Scoot), Quebec and Montreal (Air Transat) and Islamabad (British Airways). On 28 May, the British flag carrier will reopen its daily service to New York. Qatar Airways has also announced its return to Doha in June. And the new low-cost long-haul carrier Norse Atlantic is soon to announce the new long-haul routes it plans to open from Gatwick.
The reopening of the South Terminal, effective since 27 Marchcomes at just the right time. The terminal had been closed since March 2020, when the pandemic began.
