What's new with United Airlines for business travellers?
United Airlines is the only American airline to continue to distinguish between first class and business class. We have launched a new business class product that equips our aircraft between Paris and Chicago, on non-stop flights, with sleeper seats that can be fully horizontal. This means that business travellers are in great shape to start their meetings as soon as they arrive. By the end of May 2009, all 35 of our Boeing 767s will be equipped with these seats. The conversion of our Boeing 777s will begin before the end of the year.
Despite the economic slowdown, you're opening new routes...
In Europe, this is the route linking Geneva and Washington, which opened on 20 April with five frequencies per week. This new route is of course of interest to travellers based in Switzerland, but also to those living in the French border regions. It is operated by B767s featuring our brand new Business Class product.
Specifically, what facilities do you offer to travellers from the provinces wishing to visit the United States?
They can come to Paris by train and take a United flight, or take advantage of the connections provided by our preferred partner, Lufthansa, which is a member of the Star Alliance. From Marseille, for example, transit via Frankfurt or Munich is very convenient. Thanks to our commercial agreement with Lufthansa, passengers can take either United or Lufthansa flights, knowing at the time of booking which carrier is operating the flight.
