La Premium Economy Class had been taking off since the beginning of the year on the Emirates. But the number of devices was too small, and access to this new intermediate offer remained too occasional. So the official launch had to wait. It will finally begin on 1st June next year. And French business travellers are among the privileged few who will be able to discover this new class of travel as a priority, since Paris CDG is one of the first destinations served, along with London and Sydney. The A380 equipped with the new class of travel is expected for 1st August.

This customer experience will begin as soon as you arrive at the airport, with a dedicated registration area within the Dubai hub, supplemented if necessary by the recently installed mobile terminals. On board, business travellers will discover a cabin dedicated to this new premium offer, with a wood-panelled finish reminiscent of business class. The leather seat reclines 118° and has a backrest 1 m high and a seat 50 cm wide. It is equipped with a leg rest, foot rests and, of course, charging sockets. All this is complemented by an entertainment screen that stands out for its XXL dimensions (13.3 inches). The premium economy package also includes a blanket and a reusable toiletry kit with hygiene products.
In terms of catering, Emirates has also taken care to offer a premium product. A welcome drink, a choice of dishes prepared with local and seasonal ingredients, and porcelain service are all on the menu.
It should also be noted that the capacity of this Premium class will reach 56 seats at A380 (configured as a 2-4-2), compared with a maximum of 24 seats on the Boeing 777.

For the time being, only six A380s are equipped with this Premium Economy Class. But Emirates intends to speed things up, as Tim Clark points out: " we want to offer this experience on many other routes in our network by launching the retrofit programme for 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s from November. At the end of the programme, 126 Emirates aircraft to be equipped with Premium Economy cabins as well as our brand new equipment in the other classes of travel.
