The CEO of QantasAlan Joyce has just confirmed this to the British newspaper The Times. According to the Australian airline's CEO, the carrier will be redesigning its Premium Economy seats.
According to Alan Joyce, the seat will be a "cradle" design offering better reclining, while the spacing between each row will be increased from 38 to 40 inches (96.5 to 101 cm). Economy class will also benefit from an extra inch of spacing. That's a distance of 83.8cm between rows.
These small improvements in separation will be available from 2025 with the arrival of the A350-1000s of the Sunshine project. Sunshine flights will connect non-stop flights between Europe and Australia in 17 to 18 hours.
In addition to the London-Perth and Rome-PerthQantas is considering non-stop flights on London-Sydney, London-Melbourne but also since Frankfurt and Parisand on New York.
The future very long-haul A350s will have a configuration of 6 First Class suites, 52 Business Class seats, 40 Premium Economy seats and 140 Economy seats. A "wellness" area will be set up between Premium Economy and Economy to allow passengers to stretch and hydrate.
