This vast urban project is already home to major companies such as PWC, Intesa San Paolo, Deloitte and IWG, the world leader in shared workplaces, la Cloche d'Or, in Luxembourg, will continue its development with a B&B Hotels brand hotel. Expected to open in the first half of 2025, the hotel will complete the contemporary development of this sustainable neighbourhood. Launched some twenty years ago, the Cloche d'Or began with the arrival of businesses and a large shopping centre, complemented by new residential buildings. There will also be green spaces, in particular the Ban de Gasperich park, due to open next year and which will be the largest park in the Luxembourg capital, and soft mobility solutions, with the arrival of the tramway also planned for 2023, at the end of the year.
It is in this context that Promobe and Nextensa, the district's property developer and promoter respectively, have signed a 20-year lease agreement with B&B Hotels to develop a 150-room hotel within the next three years. The design was commissioned from local architects Moreno, who have already worked in the area with the headquarters of Intesa San Paolo, Deloitte and Alter Domus. The result is a hotel that will benefit from " an architectural gesture "announced as unique in the sector" .
For the occasion, the budget chain will be offering a hotel with a more upmarket positioning, " three-star superior" . Seven storeys high, with basement parking, the hotel will feature a bar/lounge, breakfast room and meeting room on the ground floor, extended by a large private terrace.
This development will mark B&B's first presence in Luxembourg, contributing to the brand's European expansion. After conquering the Netherlands and Hungary, as well as Brazil last year, the chain is now present in 14 countriesWith almost 660 hotels and just over 60,000 rooms. However, while B&B has opened a new hotel in Belgium this year, in Hasselt, it is above all in France that the brand has expanded recently, particularly in the Paris region.
B&B's European expansion also includes France
The channel now has 59 hotels in Île-de-France with the inauguration in mid-September of the B&B Paris Ivry Quai de Seine. With 175 rooms, this hotel on the outskirts of Paris is easily accessible via metro line 14 and offers guests the hotel chain's new urban design concept. At the same time, another B&B, at Paris Nord Gonesse Parc des ExposThe hotel has been renovated to offer guests a contemporary atmosphere. Another development in the Paris region, B&B has also opened a hotel at CréteilThe hotel is located at the foot of metro line 8 and is easily accessible from Paris-Orly airport. Its 91 rooms will also boost the capacity of the hotel to accommodate sports teams travelling to Paris. the neighbouring Handball HouseIt is also a venue for residential seminars. The venue, which belongs to the sports federation, also caters for corporate meetings, with an auditorium, 11 meeting rooms and three restaurants, as well as a four-star hotel with 72 rooms.
However, the Breton tropism of the group, founded in Brest some thirty years ago, has not been lost either in 2022, with a new hotel inaugurated in Rennes at the beginning of the summer, its fifth in the city. Ideally located for business travellers, opposite the Parc des Expositions, five minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the city centre, the B&B Rennes Parc Expo Aéroport offers 93 rooms, some of which can accommodate groups of up to 6 people.
Last but not least, the chain's French offering has also expanded, with a 31st hotel in the Hauts de France region, the B&B Lille Lillenium Eurasanté. Close to the Lillenium shopping centre, as well as the University Hospital Centre and the Eurasanté cluster, the 141-room establishment also offers companies two seminar rooms for meetings and training courses.
