A contemporary design, a real coworking space, a sustainable spirit: the chain Ruby Hotels deploys to Amsterdam all the components of its lifestyle offer at low prices within the walls of an existing hotel. To make its entry into the Netherlands, the hotelier of German origin is integrating the walls of an existing hotel, the first project of this type for Ruby Hotels. Opened under the Crowne Plaza brand, then renamed the QO Hotel, the property was recently refurbished to become the Ruby Emma.
Located in the Amstelkwartier, a rising district of the Dutch metropolis, ten minutes from the central station by public transport, this new Ruby hotel is housed in a building with a strong sense of responsibility. First in Europe to be LEED Platinum certifiedThe building's energy-efficiency features include the use of geothermal energy to produce heat or cold, and a façade fitted with a shading system to darken rooms.
Inside, the redesigned public spaces evoke the production and use of energy in Amsterdam, in a contemporary décor featuring vintage furniture. Spread over 18 floors, its 291 rooms are organised into six categories, ranging from 22 m² for the smallest to 35 m² for the most spacious, with flats of almost 50 m² for longer stays.
The Ruby Emma is first and foremost designed for business travellers, with several meeting rooms that can accommodate from 6 to 70 people, but also and above all with an 800 m coworking space2. While Ruby's interest in coworking is nothing new, this space being the fifth developed by the group, it is the first time that hotels and hybrid work have been brought together in the same building.

Spread over three floors, Ruby Luuk offers 138 workstations, with private offices for six to 24 people and offices that can all be rented on flexible terms. A few weeks ago, Ruby opened its fourth coworking space in Viennain the heart of the old town. Housed within the walls of the Alte Post, the restored former post office, the Ruby Paul covers more than 4,000 m2 and organises on four floors a mix of private offices for two to 18 people, individual offices, flexible workstations and meeting rooms for six to twenty people. And, of course, convivial communal areas to brighten up office life.
