Zleep Hotels continues to expand from Northern to Central Europe

Born in Denmark, the budget brand Zleep Hotels, which is now part of Deutsche Hospitality, intends to expand its portfolio in Europe with a number of projects, particularly around major airports.

The budget brand Zleep Hotels, which first appeared near Copenhagen airport in 2003, is continuing to expand in its home country. The brand, part of which will be acquired in 2019 by the Deustche Hospitality group - parent company of the Steigenberger and InterCity Hotels -now has 15 establishments in Denmark with the opening of the Zleep Hotel Velje at the beginning of November.

Located in a residential area of Denmark's fifth-largest city, where the famous Stimorol chewing gum was born, the hotel offers 109 rooms on 11 floors, topped on the 12th floor by a large swimming pool.e a rooftop terrace with a view of the fjord bordering the establishment. The brand also set up shop in Denmark in May, in another secondary cityKøge, by adding the Niels Juel hotel to its portfolio through a franchise agreement. This hotel will be expanding over the next two years from 50 to 100 rooms.

Scandinavian design, attractive prices, quality of service: these are the fundamentals on which Zleep Hotels aims to build its business. conquering Europe. The brand has already had a hotel in Sweden since 2019, not far from Stockholm Arlanda airport. As part of its continental expansion, Zleep has just celebrated in Prague the laying of the foundation stone for its first hotel in Central Europe. Expected to open in 2024, the Zleep Hotel will be part of the Waltrovka building complex in the Jinonice district, the result of the redevelopment of the former Motorlet factories into a residential and commercial area including offices, an international school, a two-hectare park and, of course, a 166-room Zleep hotel.

Zleep Hotels celebrate European hubs

This is far from being the only project underway for the budget brand, as a new store is due to open soon in Spain, at Madrid. The 281-room Zleep Hotel Madrid Airport is ideally located for business travellers, just ten kilometres from both the Madrid hub and the IFEMA exhibition centre.

Thisairport hotels is also preparing to expand in Switzerland in 2023 with a 90-key hotel in Kloten, a city adjacent to the Zurich hub, and in Germany in 2024 with a 165-room establishment at Frankfurt airport. All this in addition to the Danish establishments close to the Copenhagen and Billund airport areas.

While the country of the brand's birth will see further developments over the next two years at Hillerød and Glostrup in Greater Copenhagen, Zleep Hotels' European footprint will expand in parallel. in Germany with openings expected in Hanover in 2023 and, in 2024, in Leipzig and Hamburg, close to the headquarters of major companies grouped around the Altonaer Volkspark.

Another Zleep Hotel is also expected to open in Switzerland, in Lausanne, at the heart of Health Valleya life sciences cluster housing research centres, incubators and tens of thousands of students. This is where a new 120-bedroom establishment will be built, as part of a multifunctional, low-carbon building complex that will also include 300 student flats, 30 residential flats, shops and offices.
