Mama Shelter's expansion in France will continue over the coming months. From its current eight hotels, the brand created by Serge Trigano and now owned by Accor should have eleven by summer 2024. Recently, the lifestyle brand gave a number of details about its plans for the future. his arrival in Rennes next Marchwith a 119-room hotel integrated into a complex revisiting several historic buildings in the city centre.
The next openings are becoming clearer, with the tenth French Mama expected in June 2023 at Dijon. The result of the transformation of former administrative offices - those of the Caisse Primaire de l'Assurance Maladie - the brand's contemporary atmosphere will be spread around its 120 rooms, complemented by a restaurant and a pétanque court, as well as a CinéMama, a 250 m2 private cinema.
Finally, as far as France is concerned, we will have to wait until the following summer to see the opening in June 2024 of the Mama Nicein the Riquier district. Located 600 m from the Côte d'Azur city's Vieux Port, and easily accessible by tram, this hotel will also be based on the renovation of an administrative building - this time for municipal services -, redesigned as a lifestyle hotel with 102 rooms, described as "colourful".
However, Mama Shelter is not just concentrating on growing its offering in France. After Rome and Lisbonother destinations around the world will be able to discover the brand's concept, including Dubai for the first time in the Middle East. With its terrace including four swimming pools, several dining venues and an open-air CineMama, the hotel will have the air of an urban resort, and its location will be ideal for business travellers. Expected to open at the end of next year, Mama Dubai will be housed in a 27-storey building on the Business Bay district and will offer a larger-than-usual number of rooms (197 keys), as well as 204 flats.
Mama Shelter crosses the Atlantic again
After Los Angeles and Rio, Mama Shelter will once again be crossing the Atlantic to set up shop in early 2024 in Colombia, in Medellinthe country's second largest city after Bogotá. Located in the El Poblado district, the future hotel is also aimed at mobile and local professionals, with 150 rooms, a restaurant and swimming pool, as well as a coworking space of almost 3,000 m2 and 500m2 of meeting rooms.
To conclude this new phase of expansion, Mama Shelter will also be opening a new establishment in Europe, at Zürich. Located in the lively Oerlikon district, not far from the Messe Zürich exhibition centre and the Hallenstadion concert and sports hall, the Mama Zürich will offer its guests 178 rooms.
