British Airways: more frequencies and destinations in the United States for summer 2023

In summer 2023, British Airways will be inaugurating a new destination in the United States: Cincinnati. It will also increase its frequencies to New York JFK, Pittsburgh and Portland. The British airline is thus confirming its status as Europe's leading airline on the North Atlantic.

British Airways has just announced the inauguration services between London Heathrow and Cincinnati Northern Kentucky. The link will be provided by five times a week from 5 June. This will be increased to four weekly flights in winter. The route will be operated by a Boeing 787-8 three-class aircraft. This will be the second route to Europe for the American airport. It currently has a single route from Delta Air Lines to Paris CDG.

According to data provided by Sabre Market Intelligence, passenger traffic between Cincinnati and London totalled 33,696 passengers in both directions in 2019. This figure is based on transfer passengers. This figure makes London the largest European market for direct destinations in the Cincinnati region. For comparison, the number of passengers between Paris and Cincinnati reached 24,614 round trip in 2019.

In addition to the new line to Cincinnati, British Airways to inject additional capacity during the summer on other US destinations. The company will be offering a daily flight to Portland (Oregon) instead of five weekly flights in summer 2022. The route London-Pittsburg will move to 6 weekly flights instead of 5. London Heathrow-New York JFK, BA will offer 8 daily frequencies next summer. The British carrier will offer flights to 26 US cities in summer 2023, from both London Gatwick and Heathrow.
