Chronicle of the announced return of the Airbus A380 to Etihad

Faced with a shortage of air capacity, Etihad is reactivating its Airbus A380 aircraft. London Heathrow-Abu Dhabi will be the first route concerned by this return.

It was already thought to be buried in the meanders of aviation history. But now The Airbus A380 is back in service all over the world. The latest airline to announce the return of the giant of the skies: Etihad Airways.

Four of the airline's super-jumbos will be back in service from summer 2023.. The first aircraft will take to the skies with the summer season between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow.

Prior to Covid, Etihad had a fleet of 10 Airbus A380 aircraft. The planes flew from 2014 to 2020, the year of the pandemic. The company then decided to withdraw them as they were deemed too unprofitable in...
